RGM manages clients’ liabilities in the most cost-effective manner using the risk-based approach. The first step is to understand the problem. This might involve site investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, and chemical and geotechnical analysis and where required, remedial pilot testing to aid subsequent remediation design. Where required RGM undertakes site specific risk assessment, engages with the regulators and obtains relevant permits, develops remedial actions plans that identify the most sustainable remediation technique, undertakes civil works such as underground storage tank removals, designs, fabricates and implements ex-situ remediation, including bioremediation to treat contaminated soil and help clients to avoid expensive waste disposal costs. This also saves valuable landfill space and reduces transportation emissions. During and post remediation verification sampling is undertaken of soil, water and/or vapour to demonstrate the remediation has been effective.

TransnetBetween 2009 and 2010, GCS conducted a 3 year groundwater monitoring program which included the intrusive site assessments, conceptualisation of the site conditions into a model and the creation of a remedial plan to further assess sites of concern.
